Migrating Your Blog from WordPress to Modern Blogging

Import your posts, pages, categories, authors, and images from WordPress in minutes using our built-in WordPress importer.

Modern Blogging includes a built-in WordPress importer that migrates your existing articles, categories, authors, and media files without manual copy-pasting.

What Gets Migrated Automatically

  • Published posts and drafts, converted cleanly into structured rich text blocks.
  • Categories and author profiles, linked to their respective articles.
  • Featured images and inline media, downloaded and re-hosted on Cloudflare R2 in optimized WebP format.
  • Original publication dates and URL slugs.

How to Run the Import

  1. In your WordPress admin dashboard, go to Tools -> Export -> All Content to download your WordPress XML (WXR) file, or copy your live WordPress site URL.
  2. In your Modern Blogging Dashboard, open Import in the left navigation.
  3. Upload your XML export file or enter your WordPress site URL and start the import.
  4. Review your imported posts under Posts and configure any necessary 301 redirects under Redirects if your previous WordPress site used date-prefixed permalinks.
